It is perfectly fine to feel little anxious thinking about what future holds as it signifies you are striving for excellence. However, it is very important that we keep it in check as too much of anxiousness or nervousness affects our performance too. The best way to do that is to learn about the things you can control and the things which we cannot.
When looking for a job, we look for the best opportunity and expect to grab it. However, there are many other factors such as what openings are out there, to who else is in the running, to whether your interviewer is having a bad day, decides whether we are getting the job or not. Sometimes, the exact position you’re looking for will open up at just the right time; and other times you feel like you’ve been refreshing your profile in job portals and checking back in with your contacts again (and again, and again) before you see anything that’s a good fit. What you can do is make sure that you’re devoting enough time to your search to make the progress you want. - You can’t control the job market.
There are times when in some specific sector, jobs are not available because of sluggish growth rate for e.g. Aviation Sector. So, all the people associated will have trouble finding job as they have skill set which are not in demand.
But, you can control how you react to it.
If your skills are transferable, you can investigate roles where you could use them in a new, growing sector. - You can’t control the competition.
Sometimes your competition is just more qualified than you and you just have to accept that.
But , you can control your preparation and performance.
When you’re going into an interview, you want to focus on how you can be as prepared as possible.
